Payment Processing Setup
Follow these simple steps to start accepting payments and selling your premium guide
Important: Complete This Setup First
Before you can start selling your premium guide, you need to set up payment processing. This is a one-time setup that takes about 10-15 minutes. Choose the option that works best for you below.

Gumroad Setup (Recommended)
Follow these steps to start selling in under 10 minutes
Create Gumroad Account
- Go to gumroad.com
- Click "Start Selling" in the top right
- Sign up with your email (it's free!)
- Verify your email address
- Complete your profile
Upload Your Premium Guide
- Click "Create a Product" or "New Product"
- Select "Digital Product"
- Upload your premium PDF guide (your local PDF file)
- Give it a title: "Complete Business Acquisition Due Diligence Guide"
- Add a description (copy from the guide sales page)
- Add a cover image (optional but recommended)
Set Your Price
- Set price to $14.99
- You can enable "Pay What You Want" (optional)
- Set minimum price to $14.99 if using Pay What You Want
Configure Delivery
- Gumroad automatically delivers the PDF after purchase
- You can customize the thank you message
- Enable email notifications for sales
Get Your Product Link
- Click "Publish" or "Save"
- Copy your product URL (looks like: gumroad.com/l/your-product)
- You can customize the URL slug
Update Website Buy Buttons
Final Step:
Replace all "Buy Now" button links on your website with your Gumroad product URL. Look for buttons on the home page, guide page, and other CTAs throughout the site.
- Find all "Buy Now" or "Get Premium Guide" buttons on your website
- Update the href/link to point to your Gumroad product URL
- Test the purchase flow yourself
- Confirm you receive the PDF after test purchase
Optional: Enable Affiliates
- In Gumroad, go to your product settings
- Enable "Affiliates"
- Set commission rate (10-20% recommended)
- Share affiliate link with business brokers and consultants
Stripe Setup (Alternative)
Step 1: Create Stripe Account
Go to stripe.com and sign up for an account. Complete verification.
Step 2: Create Payment Link
In your Stripe dashboard, go to "Payment Links" → "New" → Set price to $14.99 → Add product details.
Step 3: Manual Delivery
When someone purchases:
- You'll receive an email notification
- Manually email the PDF to the buyer
- Use a template email for faster delivery
Note: Stripe doesn't auto-deliver digital products. You'll need to email each buyer manually or integrate with a delivery service.
PayPal Setup (Alternative)
Step 1: Create PayPal Business Account
Go to paypal.com and create a Business account.
Step 2: Create Buy Now Button
In PayPal: Tools → PayPal Buttons → Buy Now Button → Set price to $14.99 → Generate button code.
Step 3: Add Button to Website
Copy the button code and add it to your guide sales page.
Step 4: Manual Delivery
Email PDF to buyers after receiving payment notification.
Testing Your Setup
Before You Launch
